Our office is pleased to welcome Patent Attorney Seiji BANNO.
Seiji BANNO, Patent Attorney, joined the Japan Patent Office (JPO) in 1992 and has since been engaged in the examination of patent applications across a wide range of technical fields, including polymers, biotechnology, inorganic chemistry, metal processing, plastics engineering, food technology, coatings, and adhesives. He also handled numerous appeal cases in diverse areas such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, organic chemistry, agrochemicals, and cosmetics.
In addition to his experience at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (currently the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), he also served as a Judicial Research Official at the Osaka District Court, where he was involved in intellectual property litigation. Through these roles, he has accumulated extensive practical experience in the administrative, examination/appeal, and judicial sectors.
After retiring from the JPO in April 2026, he joined SUBARU PATENT OFFICE. Leveraging his broad knowledge and experience—particularly in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and organic chemistry—he is confident in his ability to respond accurately and effectively to the diverse needs of clients.
